Common decency dictates that we do not make about our guests (especially paying guests) remarks designed to offend their selfhood.  Carter calls out "sissies" at this conference as well as any pastors who allow said "sissies" to lead praise and worship and music ministries.  He does so not only by saying that people should get delivered from homosexuality, but also by deriding those who have affirming attitudes toward the LGBTIQA community, religious or otherwise.  We must investigate the very "men of God" who claim to be effective leaders and examples, particualrly if they receive any federal funding or are bound by any laws that impact their violation of people's civil and human rights.  Furthermore, the 21 year old man who was in the position with Carter of publicly renouncing his (own) status as a gay man, (1) because of the humiliating internet exposure he is getting, (2) because of his own agony, and (3) because he is likely receiving harsh feedback from others at the conference who are proud gay men being oppressed by C.O.G.I.C's approach to Christianity is, TODAY, in a perfect storm for a mental collapse or suicide.  It is important for him to know that he - the actual man, not the one he is being guilted into - is loved and embraced.

WE FURTHER DEMAND THAT CARTER: 1) Stop discriminating against gay, lesbian, trans, and queer people by using personal and institutional homophobia to promote your discomfort with people whose sexual and gender orientations differ from your own. 2) If you refuse, PLACE IN YOUR CONFERENCE LITERATURE IN ADVANCE that it will be a hostile environment for LGBTIQA believers; thereby rejecting us and our MONEY in advance vs accepting our payment and then attacking us once we arrive.
