I’m a passionate digital creator who relies on CapCut for its intuitive editing tools and innovative features. Like many others, I’ve switched to Linux for its performance, security, and open-source freedom—only to hit a wall: CapCut doesn’t support Linux. This leaves creators like me stranded, forced to compromise our workflows or abandon a tool we love.

This isn’t just my problem. The Linux community is growing fast, with over 3% of global desktop users (millions of potential creators) now on Linux. Major apps like DaVinci Resolve, OBS, and Blender already embrace Linux, proving there’s demand. By ignoring Linux, ByteDance is missing a chance to:

• Expand CapCut’s user base to tech-savvy creators, educators, and professionals.

• Strengthen its reputation as an inclusive, cross-platform tool.

• Stay ahead of competitors who may tap into this market first.

We’re not asking for much—just equality. A native Linux version (or even official Wine/Proton support) would unlock CapCut for a thriving community eager to use it.
