It's time for BWG Foods to ditch cruel cages!

The Issue

Hundreds of companies all around the world are making firm commitments to stop selling eggs from the cruellest egg farms, but BWG Foods are falling behind.

Irish retailer BWG Foods, who own brands including Spar, Eurospar, Mace, Londis, XL and BWG Food Service support animal cruelty by refusing to stop the sale of eggs from caged hens. Many people think it’s now illegal to keep hens in cages, but so-called ‘colony’ cages are still legal, and unlike many similar retailers across the EU and US, BWG Foods are refusing to stop selling eggs from these systems.

Hens forced to live in these cages live a life that simply isn’t worth living. They will suffer their entire lives standing on a wire-mesh floor crammed in cages with as many as 90 other hens. They will never get to experience the sun on their back or grass between their toes.

Please, sign our petition and let BWG Foods know that you do not want to be supporting this kind of extreme animal cruelty by shopping at any of their brands.

It's time for BWG Foods to join its competitors and the 21st century by producing a timeline to stop sourcing eggs from cage farms.
