Keep with commencement tradition at Butler Senior High School

The Issue

On August 14, 2017, the Butler Area Senior High School proposed a change for all students to wear the same color caps and gowns at the 2018 commencement ceremony, a revision to the tradition of wearing gold and white caps and gowns. Butler students and community members feel that this is an infringement on the rights of these students to exercise their personal beliefs and values, as well as the enjoyment of the celebration of the end of their high school careers, taking pride in the tradition Butler has held over the years. Please help us express our discontent with these changes by supporting our petition.
