The Issue

To: Christina Peebles, Owner of Burn Boot Camp Beachwood

We, the undersigned members of Burn Boot Camp Beachwood, are writing to formally express our deep concern regarding the continued mismanagement and deterioration of our gym under your leadership. What was once a vibrant and empowering community has been steadily undermined by absentee ownership, lack of support for staff, and practices that conflict with the values of the Burn Boot Camp brand.

In September 2024, you met with staff and acknowledged that you could not provide the leadership this gym and its community need. You stated clearly that you intended to sell the gym for the benefit of its future. Nearly a year later, no meaningful steps have been taken. Instead, the situation has worsened.

Our concerns include but are not limited to:

  • You reside out of state and are rarely present in the gym. When you are present, you remain disengaged from both members and staff.
  • There is a complete absence of leadership, professional development, and consistent communication with staff—many of whom are left to operate without guidance, resources, or timely responses.
  • Staff have experienced routine payroll issues, including delayed or incorrect payments, lack of tax clarity, and under-the-table payments through Venmo.
  • In the past year, we have lost multiple staff members, including three strong and beloved trainers who could no longer tolerate the current conditions. The remaining staff are barely holding on.
  • The gym has been marked by low morale, instability, and an erosion of trust, all of which directly impact the member experience.

We are a community of individuals who joined Burn Boot Camp Beachwood not only for fitness, but for strength, belonging, and growth. Your neglect—and at times dismissive, even abusive, behavior—has created an environment that stands in direct opposition to those values.

This is not what Burn Boot Camp stands for.

Without immediate change, members will have no choice but to pause or cancel their memberships—not out of disloyalty to the brand, but because this location no longer reflects the culture of support, excellence, and empowerment we signed up for.

We are calling on you, Christina, to follow through on the commitment you made—to step aside and sell the gym to new ownership who will be present, invested, and committed to rebuilding Burn Boot Camp Beachwood into the thriving, supportive community it once was.

Immediate Next Steps & Timeline
To restore trust and ensure transparency, we respectfully request the following actions:

  • By June 1, 2025
Provide written confirmation to staff and members outlining your intentions regarding the future of Burn Boot Camp Beachwood. This should include a definitive plan and timeline for either:
    • The sale or transfer of ownership,
    • A commitment to improve the overall management of the gym, with clearly stated actions, leadership changes, communication protocols, and measurable deadlines for improvement.
  • By June 15, 2025 -Share evidence that the business is actively listed for sale or under negotiations (if pursuing a sale), or provide documented steps already taken to address management failures (if retaining ownership), including the name of any consultants, brokers, or leadership advisors supporting the process.
  • By July 1, 2025  - Host a member and staff listening session (virtual or in-person) to present your plan, provide progress updates, and address ongoing concerns directly.

If no meaningful action is taken by July 1, we will move forward with the following:

  • Launch a formal appeal to Burn Boot Camp Corporate Headquarters requesting intervention and support in holding franchise leadership accountable.
  • Publicly share our concerns via media and community channels to bring awareness to the situation.
  • Encourage members to begin pausing or canceling memberships to reflect their lack of confidence in the current ownership.

The time for change is long overdue. Our community deserves better. And we will continue to raise our voices until that change is made.

Sincerely,

The Members of Burn Boot Camp Beachwood
