Quick update to let you know that our topic ‘Restoring Italian Elective at BIS’ has not been granted a formal spot on the June 8th BSD’s Board of Trustees agenda as of today.    However, the community is welcome to join the ‘Public Comments’ part of the meeting at 6pm (via Zoom) to share feedback and a few folks are already planning to speak on below points

• Provide context around the impact of the decision 
• Highlight the resources (past and recently offered to BSD / BIS) to support continuation of Italian language elective at BIS
• Engage the Board in a dialogue about the two points cited as reasons for discontinuing Italian program at BIS in order to pressure-test assumptions and to explore ways to collaboratively address these: 
  (1)   Italian program subscribership at BIS during and pre-COVID
  (2). Re-hiring Italian (-Spanish) teacher to ensure continuation of the highly valued community program at BIS
