Grant Nivin started this petition to Burleson Independent School District

In the Robotics program students often find their dreams and passions. Sadly the school has called for the end of the program, which has left many students disheartened. The Robotics class has allowed for many students to further pursue their interest in the engineering field, whilst allowing for students to compete on the national level. With a new teacher this year the class has finally found its groove,  a firm plan for the course, and a support system that gives students future aspirations within the engineering field. Some of the fields include: biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and further fields.

Due to the Districts lack of funding into the program the Robotics team was unable to go to competition with a suitable bot, because the teacher was hoping to save for better parts that  could support the longevity of the program. Even though there was much student outcry for the ending of the program, the District elects to not listen to the students. Not only does the Robotics at Burleson High School support the environment within the school, but other students at other high-schools within the district rely on the program for their engineering curriculum.

In conclusion, the Robotics program should not be removed from the curriculum at Burleson High School because it offers a plethora of opportunities for the students and their future development.
