So it has been confirmed by developer Bungie that in Destiny "The Taken King" you will not be able to ascend your legendary gear from year one, after all the hours loyal players has put into levelling up their favourite weapon/armour, (Fatebringer, Vision, Longbow, Efrideets Spear) Even many hours, I know, of re-rolling many of these items, just to say they are OBSOLETE!!! This is ultimately disrespectful of people's time and a slap in the face to the "loyal, veteran players".

This comes to being very simple, we are asking for year one players to be able to keep and ascend legendary gear they have worked so hard on in "The Taken King" and beyond. Even if you do not drop these weapons or amour any more for new players as least let the veteran players still have the option of using them and making a choice if they want to use the new weapons/armour.
