Evacuation now! 6 Afghan girls and women without male protection in Kabul!
Das Problem
Sign for 6 defenseless women and girls in Kabul! The German Foreign Office can let them come to Germany, where a family father lives, who is scared about them!
Three times, Shir Mohammad Ghafori was threatened and partially maltreated by the Taliban. They accused him of working for the Western enemy while he was only transporting goods between Wardak and Kabul. In 2015, he was taken from work in a quarry by the Taliban to be instructed in the use of a weapon and the Quran as a future Taliban fighter. Miraculously, they let him go again under the pretense of getting money from his employer and providing food for his family - on the promise of his return. He used the opportunity to take his family to Kabul for safety and to make his own escape.
Initially pushed back from Iran, he managed to escape via Iran to Pakistan, Turkey and by boat to Greece in a second attempt. He reached Germany in Spring 2016. Here he learned as quickly as possible as much German to be able to work there. Since August 2018, he has been employed full-time except for a 3-month Corona-related interruption, now with a permanent contract. On Saturdays he additionally works in a mini-job. He is well liked as an employee and colleague. He pays taxes for our Society.
Shir Mohammad Ghafori did not want to expose his physically and mentally ill wife and 3 daughters to the dangers of flight. He knew they would be well taken care of by his widowed mother-in-law and unmarried sister-in-law.
He was full of confidence that with this destiny he would be recognized as a refugee in Germany and would be able to fetch his family. He did not have much education in Afghanistan and did not learn to speak fluently. He told his story as best he could. The BAMF did not believe him. The judge at the Sigmaringen Administrative Court did not believe him either. His reasons for fleeing were rated " not credible presented". Since then, he has to live with the feeling that "Germany" considers him a liar. Through a subsequent protection request due to psychiatric problems with suicide risk, the hope remained to be recognized at some point and to be able to bring his family. Now it is too late. The Taliban are in power. The ongoing asylum procedures for Afghans are on hold!
Should Shir Mohammad Ghafori be recognized at some point in Germany after all: By then, unspeakable suffering may have long since befallen these 6 women and girls! Therefore they must be saved now!
They live only tolerated in a damp basement apartment in the house of a brother-in-law, who has a large family of his own to support and is not willing to also be responsible for a sick sister-in-law and her three daughters, for the widowed mother-in-law and her unmarried daughter. He does not help them and wants them to move out.
So far, the mother-in-law has been doing the shopping and accompanying them on frequently needed doctor and clinic visits. Only worrying they have so far moved in public without the accompaniment of a male. Now they are very scared of the laws to come, which forbids unmarried women to go out of the house without a male close relative. And they are very afraid that the Taliban will go from house to house in Kabul, as they already do in the countryside, asking, "Where is your husband?"
With the advancement of the Taliban, the three women - wife, mother-in-law and sister-in-law, in their desperation, planned to flee Afghanistan to Iran or Turkey with their 3 daughters - 3 women and 3 girls alone! They had already provided themselves with all the necessary papers. But then the money was not enough for the escape. Now they are stuck in Kabul.
It is now known that relatives living in Afghanistan may be at particular risk simply because their relatives are refugees in Germany and the Taliban know this. According to a report, a family living in Kabul received two nightly "visits" from Taliban with Kalashnikovs.
According to reports from the independent Afghan Human Rights Commission, human rights violations against women have been occurring since mid-July from areas that the Taliban have controlled for weeks or months. As part of this, the Taliban go from home to home. They take girls as young as twelve with them. They call this 'Jihad al-Nikah' - 'marriage jihad.'"
They have closed schools for girls and ordered women to leave the house only when accompanied by a male, even for medical appointments, it says. "A woman is no longer allowed to go out alone in Afghanistan. You are only allowed to do that with a male - the father, the husband or your brother. If you have none of these three, you are not allowed to live." Source: 20.08.2021 BZ https://www.bz-berlin.de/welt/taliban-morden-und-foltern-schon-nur-wenige-entkommen-dieser-hoelle
What will Shir Mohammad Ghafori do when the worst thing a father can imagine happens to his daughters? What if his wife doesn't want to go on living? Perhaps, in desperation, he will put an end to his life.
Awaiting that would be irresponsible!
And the Taliban have a good memory: Whom they have commandeered for themselves and who has eluded them cannot return without danger for his own life. And dead or in the hands of the Taliban he is of no use to his family!

Dear Minister Maas,
Make an exception out of humanity and a sense of responsibility!
These 6 women and girls – Marina GHAFOORI (29 y.), the mentally and physically ill wife and mother of 3 daughters Robina (12 y.), Rawina (9 y.) and Maryam (8 y.), the widowed mother-in-law Sabza Gul ABDUL (53 y.) and the unmarried sister-in-law Nabila ABDUL (20 y.) – are targets for sexual abuse and forced marriage. They have no husband, father or brother to accompany them for necessary trips outside the house. They are at serious risk of assault from unmarried women, widows, and girls 12 years of age and older due to the expected tightened Sharia rules. There is no doubt that they rank among the most vulnerable people in Afghanistan.
Insisting on the fulfillment of bureaucratic regulations such as waiting for decisions on asylum law, obtaining visas in embassies of neighboring countries (now no longer at all possible for women without male protection!) is working into the hands of the Taliban and is irresponsible under the circumstances prevailing in Afghanistan!
Authorize this family reunification regardless of asylum recognition! Allow the creation of visas and the immigration into Germany in an non-bureaucratic way now, before it is too late. Do not allow Germany to be jointly responsible for the abuse and humiliation of these girls and women, as they do have someone in Germany who would and will take care of them.
You can prevent this suffering, dear Minister Maas!
We appeal to your humanity and responsibility! For Germany it is a small step to say: bring these 6 women and girls to Germany as soon as the further negotiations with the Taliban make it possible!
A corresponding submission to the Foreign Office dated 25.08.2021 with all the necessary details and photos of the travel documents is available, supported by a letter from MdB Beate Müller-Gemmeke.
It is a courageous, a humane step to do without bureaucratic obstacles in such an exceptional situation! A rejection in the asylum procedure - due to the lack of speech and persuasiveness of an uneducated asylum seeker - should no longer be decisive there! After all, it is about the prevention of unbearable suffering, about freedom and a dignified life for 6 girls and women whose husband / father / son-in-law / brother-in-law would like to do nothing better than to support them in their integration in a free country with women's rights here in Germany.
Please have travel documents issued for these 6 women and girls, grant case-by-case permission for them to be accepted in Germany, and allow them to be evacuated!
