USA based Bumble Bee Foods has been bought by Taiwan's Fong Chun Formosa (FCF) Fishery Company. FCF has a deplorable record of brutal labor and illegal fishing practices including shark finning.

A 2020 report by Greenpeace documents allegations included deception, physical violence, wage deductions, debt bondage, passport confiscation, and excessive working hours. Fishers interviewed also provided evidence that the vessels took part in unlawful fishing practices, such as shark finning and transferring shark fins between vessels.

The fishers also provided evidence that the vessels took part in unlawful fishing practices, such as shark finning and transferring shark fins between vessels.  FCF is complicit in IUU fishing and consumers of their products contributes to human rights abuse and threatens sharks and other large fish with extinction.  

We urge consumers to boycott Bumble Bee tuna and all products sold by FCF and their proxies and for Bumble Bee and FCF adhere to the fishing and labor practices set by the United Nations and Regional Fisheries Management Organizations.
