This past summer, I watched my neighbors, along with my son, eagerly searching for open pickleball courts, unable to find any available in our community of Buffalo Grove, IL. It was disheartening to see them return disappointed time after time, while the adjacent baseball field at Mirielle Park went unused, wasting valuable space that could be transformed into a lively hub of activity.
Pickleball is rapidly growing in popularity across the United States, celebrated for its accessibility, engaging gameplay, and the way it brings communities together. In Buffalo Grove, the demand for pickleball courts is evident as families, seniors, and youth all seek out spaces to enjoy this dynamic sport, only to find our options severely limited.
