Context & Project Status: The Aquatic Center is a long‑running project dating back to the 2005 Master Plan. The City of ABQ has been assembling funding from multiple sources over several years. The Aquatic Center has an estimated total cost of ~$66.4 million. Over $46 million was already secured before the 2026 session. The 2026 $4 million helps to continue the phased funding approach for construction of the indoor recreation, therapy and competition pools.

Why This Matters: This $4 million helps close the gap for the most community‑requested Aquatic Center component: INDOOR POOLS.
