Every child deserves a place to play, connect, and feel included yet many children with special needs in Ocala, Florida do not have access to a safe, accessible playground designed for them.

Traditional playgrounds often lack:

-Wheelchair-accessible equipment
-Sensory-friendly features
-Safe, inclusive spaces for children of all abilities
This leaves many families feeling excluded from something as simple and essential as play.

An inclusive playground would provide:

-Ramps and adaptive swings for mobility access
-Sensory play areas for children with autism and sensory sensitivities.                                                                     -Controlled access gates to ensure boundaries         -Safe, secure layouts for children with developmental challenges.                                                       -A space where ALL children can play together, not separately

-We are calling on the City of Ocala leaders and Parks & Recreation Department to prioritize the planning and development of an inclusive, ADA-accessible playground for our community.

This is not just about play it’s about belonging, inclusion, and equal opportunity for every child.
