Build an Amtrak rail between Madison and Milwaukee

Build an Amtrak rail between Madison and Milwaukee
The Issue
Legislators involved:
District 10 state senator: Rob Stafsholt
Federal Senator: Tammy Baldwin
Milwaukee Mayor: Cavalier Johnson
Madison Mayor: Satya Rhodes-Conway
There is a portion of our legislation that is pushing for a new Amtrak line between Milwaukee and Madison WI. There are some who think it is a waste of taxpayer money, but that is shortsighted.
There are numerous economical benefits which includes the ability for individuals to pursue jobs outside of their area, adding for more equal opportunities for those in both cities. It would also decrease the cost of general travel to either city, as the distance puts significant wear and tear on vehicles when driven regularly. This would also increase access to quality education for individuals living in either city, as they could have their pick of university.
The environmental benefits are also numerous which includes general energy saving as individuals no longer have to drive the long way to either city, lowering general emissions.
Finally, there are recreational benefits as well, as one could easily make day trips to either city for the purpose of enjoyment. This benefit would also increase general revenue to the local businesses of both cities allowing for more positive commerce between the two cities as well.
