Defiance, Ohio is in dire need of a public skatepark. Currently, there are no safe and legal places for skateboarders to practice their skills in our community. This leaves many young people with nowhere to go and nothing to do.

According to the Skatepark Project, skateboarding is the 3rd most popular sport among teenagers in the United States. It's estimated that there are over 11 million skateboarders nationwide. In Defiance alone, there are dozens of young people who would benefit greatly from having a public skatepark.

Not only would a skatepark provide a safe place for skateboarders to practice their skills, but it would also bring economic benefits to our community. Skateparks have been shown to increase property values and attract tourists.

We believe that building a public skatepark in Defiance is not only necessary but also beneficial for our community as a whole. We urge city officials and local leaders to prioritize this project and allocate funds towards its construction.

Let's give our youth something positive and constructive to do by providing them with an accessible place where they can safely enjoy their passion for skateboarding!
