In 2014, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MRPB) approved the Northeast Park Master Plan, which included space for a 30,000 square foot skatepark. Despite the support of Minneapolis-based skaters, families and neighborhood groups, resources have yet to be allocated by the MPRB to make this skatepark a reality.

A skatepark at Northeast Park would provide a free and safe environment for skateboarding, BMX, scooters, roller skating, and all wheeled activity. If designed and constructed properly, this skatepark would be a high-value investment and would be a valuable community asset.

Through this petition, we are strongly urging the MPRB to allocate funds and build a skatepark at Northeast Park.
