Build a Public Track at Boulder City Veterans' Memorial Park

Build a Public Track at Boulder City Veterans' Memorial Park

The Issue

Project Details:

Despite being a hub for outdoor recreation and having great parks and sport facilities, Boulder City does not offer a track open to the public. In fact, there are no publicly open tracks within a 20 mile radius of Boulder City! This greatly limits the opportunities for training, exercising, recreational programs, and all the fun that goes along with it. We petition the city of Boulder City to build a track open to the piblic.

A track will offer a space for training, recreation, and socializing that isn't currently available to BC residents.

///

Proposed Location:

The open desert area west of the Veterans' Memorial Splash Pad.

///

Non-Exhaustive List of What A Public Track Offers Boulder City:

-Youth track programs

-Adult track and running clubs

-Low intensity area for new runners/walkers

-Training space for advanced runners and marathon qualifying hopefuls

-Safe area for parents to run where their young children can join them away from cars on the street

-Training space for off-season high school athletes

-Flat walking surface for the elderly or injured

///
