I learned that they are building a new medical building that is set to open next year right in our community. This is an exciting development, but we need even more. It only makes sense to build another medical office building right next to Kaiser Permanente. This is critically important because more patients require extensive treatments, and our existing facilities are stretched thin.

For those of you unfamiliar with PIH Health, it is a well-respected interhealth corporation located in Whittier, California. Established in 1959 as the Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, it has been managed by the nonprofit InterHealth Corporation since the mid-1980s. PIH Health has been a cornerstone of our community, serving countless families with dedication and excellence throughout its history.

Kaiser Permanente is another essential healthcare provider in our area. Many residents rely on both Kaiser and PIH Health for their healthcare needs, yet the demand continues to outpace the resources. This means longer waits, fewer available services, and a general strain on our healthcare system. Our community deserves better access to medical care, ensuring that everyone gets the timely and comprehensive treatment they need.

Building another medical office building adjacent to Kaiser will alleviate some of these issues. It will mean more resources, more doctors, more treatment options, and much-needed relief for our overburdened healthcare facilities.

We urge the developers, Kaiser Permanente, and InterHealth Corporation, to seriously consider this expansion. It is both a necessary and logical step forward for improving the health and well-being of our community.
