I fell in love with the sport of disc golf the first time I stepped on a course. It offered not just a fantastic way to get outdoors and stay active, but it also created a community of enthusiasts who share an unparalleled passion for the game. Now, I'm looking to extend that love and sense of community to the heart of Snohomish by advocating for the construction of a new 18-hole disc golf course.

Currently, Snohomish lacks a comprehensive facility that accommodates disc golf players, which prevents our town from reaping the benefits that a well-designed course can bring. Towns that invest in disc golf facilities enjoy increased tourism, local economic growth, and more opportunities for community events. For example, The National Parks Service emphasizes how essential open sports facilities are in promoting tourism and enriching local economies, drawing visitors who spend on lodging, food, and local attractions.

Countless towns throughout the Pacific Northwest have embraced disc golf, with courses bringing hundreds of players from different parts of the country. In Bellingham, tournaments and daily play have injected thousands of dollars into local businesses every year. A new disc golf facility would not only benefit regular players but also attract travelers and businesses to Snohomish, amplifying our town's charm and vitality.

Installing an 18-hole disc golf course would require relatively low resources. According to the Professional Disc Golf Association, costs are minimal compared to other infrastructure projects, with significant returns over time. The design and installation of natural terrain courses harmoniously integrate with the environment, causing minimal disruption and maximizing enjoyment.

By supporting this petition, you help us express to local leaders how important it is for Snohomish to invest in growing sports and recreation opportunities. This facility would also address the need for more recreational spaces in the area, a pressing issue as our community continues to grow rapidly.

Join me in advocating for the enhancement of Snohomish through the construction of an 18-hole disc golf course, and help us build a legacy that combines sport, community, and economic prosperity. We can make Snohomish a hub for outdoor sports enthusiasts and bring people together in new and meaningful ways.

Please sign this petition and let our local officials know that a brighter future for our community starts with investing in sport and leisure facilities like this disc golf course.
