Build a Local Skatepark in West Pennant Hills, NSW

The issue

Whenever my friends and I want to go to a skatepark, we face the challenge of traveling long distances. Unfortunately, our parents are hesitant to let us make these trips on our own due to safety concerns. They have assured us, however, that if we had a skatepark in our own suburb, they would be comfortable allowing us to go. A local skatepark would provide a safe and accessible space for kids and teens to practice their skills, stay active, and build community connections. Moreover, skateparks help reduce the risk of injuries by offering a designated area for skating, away from the dangers of traffic.

West Pennant Hills is experiencing rapid growth, with many young families moving into the area. Recreational facilities like a skatepark can significantly enhance the quality of life for residents. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), physical activity is crucial for children's development and well-being. A skatepark would not only promote physical fitness but also serve as a vibrant community hub where young people can come together, fostering a sense of belonging and community spirit.

In addition to these benefits, a local skatepark would be a proactive step towards promoting a healthy, active lifestyle for our youth. It would provide an outlet for energy and creativity, keeping kids engaged in a positive and productive manner. With proper design and maintenance, a skatepark can be a safe and inclusive space for everyone, regardless of their skill level.

We need your support to make this vision a reality. Please sign this petition to support the construction of a local skatepark in West Pennant Hills. Your signature can help us create a safe, fun, and healthy environment for the young people in our community. Thank you for your consideration and support!
