Every morning, my heart sinks as I watch the children of our community watchfield together in the cold or rain waiting for their school buses by St thomas Church. This spot, a pivotal bus stop for our neighborhood, leaves our children exposed to the elements, with nowhere to seek refuge during adverse weather. As a concerned parent and a member of this tight-knit community, I feel it's imperative that we provide a basic yet significant amenity—a bus shelter.

A simple bus shelter can transform the daily experience of our children, ensuring they are not soaked by winter rain or chilled by the wind before they even step foot in their classrooms. With the unpredictable weather of our area, this becomes not just a convenience, but a necessity. Shelters such as these have been shown to improve safety, provide comfort, and encourage punctuality among students.

By signing this petition, you will help us appeal to the local council to allocate funds or collaborate with businesses for sponsorship to construct a shelter. We have seen other communities like ours take similar initiatives and achieve successful outcomes. Not only do they offer protection from the weather, but they also enhance the aesthetics of the waiting area through thoughtful design and community involvement.

Furthermore, research has shown that waiting children are more likely to be alert and prepared for school when their commute begins in a safe and sheltered environment. Our community has always prioritized the well-being of its younger generation, and this initiative is no exception.

Please join me in urging our local council and relevant stakeholders to consider this small yet impactful addition to our schoolchildren’s daily routine. Your signature can make a difference, bringing a safer and more comfortable wait to the children at St. Thomas's bus stop.

Sign the petition today and help us create a bus shelter that truly shelters our future.
