Children love going to Build-A- Bear and choosing a stuffed animal, grooming them, naming them, and dressing them to suite their preferred style. A lot of times, children dress their new friend in a style that would match their own. For my son, and many other children, their new friend is missing one very important thing, the device that allows them to hear. Cochlear implants first made their debut in 1972. Since then, over 340,000 devices worldwide have been implanted into adults and children! Cochlear implants were made for people that need a little more help hearing than what a hearing aid can provide. The device is surgically implanted into the cochlea to stimulate it to cause hearing. A lot of children, my son included, would love to give their new friend the same life changing device that they have. So, please, help us sign this petition in an effort to ask Build-A-Bear to create cochlear implants for their animals.
