The Issue

16th avenue south entrance is popular for both locals and tourists, but unlike other beach entrances in the area, it lacks a basic facility, a rinse-off shower. We want to create a petition to present to city council to show that the Jacksonville beach area wants this rinse off shower.

Having a rinse off shower will help people leaving the beach keep their cars and homes clean. Sand gets everywhere, and a quick rinse can make returning from the beach a better experience. Many people face this problem as to why we want to create this petition.

We've noticed other beach accesses have rinse off showers and it's a lot better being able to rinse off your feet and legs before getting into your car or riding your bike back home.

We would like our city council to acknowledge this as a community need and help us improve the beach experience for everyone at 16th Avenue South. Let's make sure every beach entrance meets the needs of its users. Please support us in convincing the city council. Sign this petition to help make a positive change for our community.

Thanks for reaching out. The COJB public works department already has future plans to place showers at the endzone at 16 th avenue South. It is in Project 6 of Phase 3D and includes a shower at the 16th Ave. S End Zone as part of the next Downtown Redevelopment Project. I use this endzone regularly myself and recognize the need for these amenities. Would love for it to be done tomorrow, but we will have to keep with the planned renovations and their current schedule. When more information is available regarding the timing, I will be happy to provide it. Regards. Bill Horn City Council District 2 City of Jacksonville Beach
