It is our opinion that the Buffalo Zoo elephants should be moved to the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee not sent to yet another zoo exhibit. The Sanctuary is accredited by the same organization that zoos are. They are licensed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Animal Advocates of WNY has collected many signatures of people who want the elephants sent to the sanctuary and contacted the Sanctuary who agreed they would provide a home for the Buffalo Zoo elephants. We have previously written to the director of the zoo and requested a meeting with her but were not extended that courtesy. If you are also upset that the elephants are not being sent to a sanctuary, please take time to make a polite call to the Buffalo Zoo and let them know. You can go to their website and leave a message also: www.buffalozoo.org We believe the Buffalo Zoo elephants deserve to spend the rest of their days roaming the beautiful acres of the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.
