Put the Pancho Billa Logo on the Backs Of Bills Helmets
The Issue
May 14, 2019, saw the tragic end of a wonderful man's life. Ezra Castro, known better by his alias "Pancho Billa," brought joy and excitement into an otherwise joyless NFL fan base. Considered by some to be the founding father of the Bills Mafia, Castro attended nearly every game in his iconic Bills-themed luchador mask and sombrero. He was the human manifestation of passion and energy even during his chemotherapy.
A story from @AshleyPetty_: "The last time I saw him was at a game this past season. We hugged awhile and I told him how proud I was of him for the courage and strength he’d shown through chemo, but he kept turning it back on me saying how proud he was of me for having lost so much weight & maintained it. But honestly, the thing I’ll remember most is that he was never in a bad mood and always had a smile on his face. Always."
But Pancho Billa was not only the most enthusiastic fan at every Bills game. In fact, he was nothing if not caring.
A story from @burkedaniel: "First time I ever brought my kids to a Bills Backers bar here in Dallas, there were no seats. He and another guy brought out a white plastic folding table (yeah, Bills tailgate special,) found us chairs, and sat us right by the biggest projector screen. Our kids would run around and play together during games, throw a football on the patio, while the adults cheered (and sighed) together during Bills games season after season. To say my family will miss him is an understatement. Being with him at the NFL and also NHL Draft was fun at the time, but seems special and more memorable today. RIP."
Ezra Castro was a shining pillar of moral strength in the Bills community, and he deserves to be honored by the team. Sign this petition to put Pancho Billa's iconic luchador and sombrero logo on the back of the 2019 Buffalo Bills helmets. Pancho deserved this tribute before he was diagnosed with cancer. Please let him be with our Buffalo Bills one last time.
