The Buda Planning and Zoning Commission recently approved the specific use permit (SUP) for a McDonald's and 2 other drive thru restaurants at FM 967 and FM 1626 (next to Starbucks). It will now be put before the Buda City Council for a vote to allow the development of this project.

I am opposed to yet another McDonald's (and other fast food chains) in Buda. There is no reason for them. There are far better options that we should be attracting to our community. Furthermore, 3 new drive thru restaurants with an exit feeding into 967 immediately before 1626 will further congest an already severely congested area. Join me in voicing your opposition! Feel free to write suggestions in the comments of places you would like to see come to west Buda.

The comprehensive plan for that area was to create a walkable community node. Drive-thru restaurants go against that node. We appeal to the City of Buda to deny the SUP for this area as it goes against the comprehensive plan set up.

I will close out this petition on November 2, 2020 and hand deliver the petition to the Buda City clerk for submission to the council for consideration.  Thank you for your support and your commitment to keep Buda an amazing place to live.
