Bud's Bill to Ban Use of Pesticides/herbicides in Minneapolis MN

The Issue

This proposed 'Bud's Bill' would ban citywide use of pesticides and herbicides in Minneapolis, MN. I am proposing this bill as my dog Bud died much too young of cancer. When I learned that at least 4 other dogs in our Kenwood neighborhood also had cancer I knew I had to do something. I firmly believe pesticides/herbicides were the culprit for his cancer, and ultimately his early death. But this bill isn't just for the dogs...

Pesticides and herbicides (roundup) have been proven to kill bees, animals, and humans. There is zero reason the city of Minneapolis should be spraying our city parks. You may be  surprised to learn that the Park Board is using Roundup and a list of more than 150 dangerous chemical herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides in our shared green spaces. I am proposing that all pesticides and herbicides be banned from personal and public use as they are a known risk to life. There is zero reason these products should be sold on shelves, or used by professional lawn services. A perfectly manicured park or lawn is never worth a life.
