Camp Kiashuta began as a CCC project in 1936 and has a lovely log cabin, shelter, swinging bridge, and campsite available for rent.  The camp also has a 3.25 mile hiking trail.

Camp Kiashuta, Meigs County, OH, is going to be sold. We want to save it as a community camp!

It was confirmed that the camp is being "listed" with a realtor.

The purpose of this page and the petition is to ...
1. Spread the word that it's being sold.
2. Make sure that people know the reason it is being sold - the council did a 4 year study on camp use, # of scouts in the area, and cost to operate. Camp Kiashuta wasn't being used as much and the number of scouts are down in the area.
3. SAVE the camp as a non-profit community camp - not allow it to go to an individual so we can still use it.
4. After we get a 501C3 - nonprofit, we will be able to set up an account and raise money to buy it and later on - to sustain it.

Thank you all for your support!!

The Story:

In December of 2016 Buckskin council concluded a 4 year study on some of the camps in the tri-state area. Here is what was said about Camp Kiashuta "Camp Kiashuta also suffers from a lack of in-council usage, with only 178 in-council day usages and 570 out-of-council."
