Support local NHS key-workers; save the painted boxes in Adel
The Issue
Noted local street artist Burley Banksy has painted two utility boxes adjacent to my driveway in Adel, Leeds, which support the NHS.
The boxes brighten up the local environment as well as supporting the work of neighbours who are NHS key-workers. It is important to recognise the contribution of NHS key-workers in these continued extraordinary days.
The National Public Health Emergency has focussed minds upon mutual respect and support within local society. It is valuable to share positivity and recognise the contribution of others; that all corresponds to a correct set of moral values.
Signatories to this petition support the work of NHS key-workers and recognise that the presence of artwork in the local community brightens the day of those who see it.
We understand that numerous engineers like the artwork on the boxes, not least as it makes them easy to identify.
It appears that one or two individuals have lodged complaint with BT Openreach and/or the Council on surreal grounds. One hopes that those complainants do not not themselves ever need to rely upon the NHS and local key-workers.
We call upon BT Openreach to recognise the valuable contribution made and to preserve the NHS boxes for the benefit of all.
