We, the undersigned, petition the named parties to work in partnership to improve the horrendous speeds of connection to basic broadband services. We ask that as part of Superfast Lancashire the development of 235 plots be considered for an upgrade of infrastructure enabling families and local businesses working from home be able to thrive in the area.

In 2020, access to the internet should not be based upon your postcode. Unfortunately if you live on the Pastures Development in Wesham a good stable connection is a luxury not a right. In 2020 lack of access to the basic internet has Health and Wellbeing consequences as well with residents mentioning the stress, anxiety and emotional impact of not being able to connect with loved ones and having continuous problems in working from home thus resulting issues at work. 

In 2020 access to the internet should not be a privilege but a right. We call upon the parties to come and talk with residents on the Development and see for yourselves the frustration and disappointment many feel.
