Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has been banning breeds that are "Deemed" Vicious
by public, Such as Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, Pit Bulls, etc. Many people will look at my Pit Bull and shy away from it, and it being a therapy dog, but when they see a mean little Chihuahua or Beagle or a different breed, they think it is cute and BSL and PETA only makes it worse by trying to ban a breed everyone else thinks is mean due to the history of the breed, rather than the dog itself. Many "Vicious" breeds have been banned in several counties and now it is progressing to whole states. I would like to put a stop to this. Just because some dogs in a breed are raised and bred to be mean, there are other dogs in the same breed that are doing more good than many other breeds. For every dog that bites, 1,000+ more are giving kisses. The way I see it, we are human, Yes, we have criminals in our species, some worse than others, but there are some truly good people out there, so how are we different? Why should I have to give up my dog because someone else out there is doing wrong with the breed? Would You like it if i told you that you have to put your child down because the neighbor's child is running around misbehaving? Give these breeds a chance to show the good, stand behind them as you would your child or a different breed.
