A new bylaw is going into effect in Kingston starting in mid-September that will put burdensome restrictions on Uber and Uber drivers. This may very well lead to ride-sharing companies leaving Kingston and drivers losing their jobs.

The Kingston Area Taxi Commission (an unelected body) passed a bylaw putting severe restrictions on ride sharing drivers and companies like Uber and Lyft. Despite no vote going before city council this bylaw will go into effect starting September 15th.

Please support local drivers and your right to chose your mode of transportation. Tell city council and the mayor that you want to be able to use Uber and that there is no reason an unelected body should have the ability to create laws that impact the residents of this city.
