As Correctional Officers we are in constant contact with criminals every shift. Road officers only deal with these people for short times, and yet they are allowed to carry their weapon at all times according to the Illinois law enforcement training board. Correctional Officers go through the same firearm training and should have the same ability to protect their families and their communities.
