Melissa Calusinski was wrongfully convicted of murder in 2011. She worked at a day care center for children. She was interrogated for nine hours and coerced to confess murdering a toddler named Ben. A police interrogation is only supposed to last half an hour to two hours, but Melissa was interrogated for nine. She was accused of causing his head injuries that led to death.

Ben was said to have had no past injuries according to a doctor. Years after her first trial, evidence proves this doctor wrong, as he admits it to another doctor. It is possible Ben could have taken a fall and further his injury. But Melissa was not the cause. Ben's x-rays were even photoshopped to frame Melissa. The Lake County judged no new trial during her second one in 2016.
