As a result of storm Dennis I decided today was a good day to continue the process of organising my muddled local history archive. Among the notes, letters and newspaper cuttings I found my invite to a double celebration at Lowewood Museum on the 30 June 2007. So it was not so long ago that the Council do appear to have valued the worth of this gift and the local treasures that it holds. I am aware that a lot has changed in 13 years, but it is a pity that the Council has not changed their attitude to retaining the ridiculously low rate of council tax during that time. Had they done so, many local services might still survive and Lowewood Museum would not be in the position it is today.
