Sadly at their meeting last night the cabinet of Broxbourne Borough Council recommended that the proposal to close Lowewood Museum go before the full council for approval in February. Please believe me when I say The Friends of Lowewood Museum, The Hoddesdon Society, The Friends of Cedars Park, The Wormley and Turnford Society, FOSTA and our many supporters on the local Memories Facebook Groups will not be giving up the fight. Please keep sharing the link and let us try and get the number of sign ups above 2000 and we can then submit this to the council.
The total disregard by the council of the thousands of years of history which has helped shape our community is utterly appalling. Closure of Lowewood Museum will be an act of sheer vandalism.
These are the councillors who approved closure. Councillor Cocking, Councillor Monaghan, Councillor Mason, Councillor Brown and Councillor Holliday. Whether you live in the Borough or not please make your feelings known to these and all of the other councillors who will vote on this in February. All of their email contact details can be found on the Broxbourne Borough website, just type councillors in the search box.
