We attended the Christmas Fair yesterday at a venue in Hoddesdon, we were told we cannot mention it by name can you believe and obtained a further 90 + written signatures. We will be at other venues in the run up to Christmas for people to sign the petition who may not have internet access. The responses from the leader of Broxbourne Borough Council to concerned residents emails regarding the proposed closure, have been negative and unwavering. He claims all avenues have been explored, but he was offered a revised operating agreement by Epping Forest District Council, which he and the cabinet appear to have rejected. Had this opportunity been taken and it is not too late, it would have enabled the Council more time to explore the setting up of a trust to run the Museum. I believe this is what they have at Hertford, although the Town Council contributes to running costs.
