On April 23rd, a Sheriff Deputy responded to a call for a welfare check on the dogs owned by Carol Applegate, a Mastiff Breeder. Charges have since been dropped. One of the dogs, "Forrest Gump" was shot in the head by the Deputy after nipping him in the leg while guarding the back door. Forrest died a slow death as a result of his wound. Police are sworn to protect and serve their citizens, not murder family pets protecting their home. The Deputy should be relieved of his duties.
