Stephanie Kienzle started this petition to Broward County and

There are many feral cat colonies in Broward County, Florida. The County used to have a Trap Neuter Release (TNR) program (https://www.broward.org/animal/programsservices/pages/community-cat-management-programs.aspx) to help control the feral cat population. I was told by Broward County that they stopped the program, allegedly due to COVID. Meanwhile, in our neighboring Miami-Dade County, their TNR program has continued in full force.

Feral female cats can reproduce 2 to 3 times a year, and their kittens, if they survive, will become feral without very early contact with people. Cats can become fertile as early as 5 months of age, and the number of cats rapidly increases without intervention by responsible and caring people. For example, 1 pair of breeding cats can exponentially produce 420,000 offspring over 7 years.

I am starting this petition to let Broward County know how critical it is to reinstate its TNR program. Please sign this petition!
