Give Nelson Cruz a fair shake in the Brooklyn Conviction Review Unit. Prove that the unit is not just window dressing leftover from Kenneth Thompson. The evidence against Nelson is a joke even before you add the presence of Detectives Scarcella and Chmil. 

The only witness that places Nelson at the scene, Andre Bellinger, was a useful tool of those 2 corrupt detectives. Bellinger didn't even know that police were on scene to make an arrest immediately and saw the muzzle flare of the murder weapon. It's because he wasn't there.

The officer on scene testified to seeing the shooter, Eduardo Rodriguez, with the murder weapon in his hand, with the muzzle flaring. Obviously, this makes Rodriguez an unreliable witness, which is why Bellinger is even involved. There are 2 witnesses, Chris and Bonnie Cooper, that place Bellinger elsewhere at the time of the crime.  

This isn't complicated. A mistake was made. The jury got it wrong. Don't waste another second of this man's life.
