On Friday December 7th, Jazmine Headley and her One year old Son were at the HRA office located at 275 Bergen Street on Brooklyn. While waiting to see a worker for over 4 hours, Jazmine sat on the floor since there were no seats. An overzealous security officer became irate and demanded for Jazmine Headley to stand up. Ms. Headley explained that she has been standing and waiting for about 4 hours with her child and needed to sit down. Instead of the security officer providing a chair for Ms. Headley or atleast talking to an HRA supervisor about the inhumane conditions the workers have caused with the long wait times and not enough seating space, the security officer out Jazmine and her child's life in danger by calling the police.
When the NYPD Officers came in, they did not investigate the situation of aide Jazmine and her one year old child in getting a seat for them. Instead, they acted like Donald Trump's Border Guards and like the Slave Patrols and Plantation Owners of the days of slavery and proceeded to snatch away her child from her. As a mother, Jazmine Headley tried to protect her child from harm as she yelled out, "They Are Hurting My Son", " They Are Hurting Him". In the video, you can see how violent the officers were in treating Jazmine Headley and her One year old child, as if Jazmine and her child were not human beings. To add on to this trauma, the Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez enforced the fraudulent unjust charges against Jazmine Headley and issued an Order of Protection for Jazmine to not be able to have contact with her child. ACS opened an investigation to add further trauma to this family. Mayor De'Blasio is playing politics with this situation and his wife Chirlaine who is a Black Mother just like Jazmine Headley, has chosen to remain silent. Police Commissioner James O'Neill is trying to protect the abusive nature of his officers, as always. The people are sick and tired of being mistreated and abused by this system and demand Justice!!
