We, the undersigned, are aware that the City of New York gives approximately a quarter of a million dollars annually to each of the Community Boards in NYC to cover the costs of operation excluding rent.

However, Brooklyn Community Board 9 (“CB9") is the only Community Board in New York City without any paid staff since April 5, 2016.  We demand that Brooklyn Community Board 9 hire a full-time staff person to provide administrative support for the District Office.  It is a disservice to the community to rely solely on volunteers to run a District Office.  
 
Furthermore, given that Brooklyn CB9 has had no District Manager since October 2015, and no paid staff since April 2016, we demand that Community Board 9 produce a budget report for the last two fiscal years, beginning June 1, 2014. We are entitled and interested to know how taxpayer money is being spent by this public agency.
