The Brookhaven town landfill has diminished the quality of life for its residents. Several pollutants including benzene have been found in nearby ground water samples.  Hydrogen sulfide has been elevated in the surrounding community.  It is an eyesore, a breathing quality issue as well as a source of pollution and a danger to nearby neighborhoods and schools; some right in its own backyard. The town does not have 10 more years to wait as people are sick with the smells and ash in the air! This is a quality of life issue that we are asking you to address, remediate and cap the landfill once and for all! The time is now! Not ten years from now! The dangers to its residents and tax payers need to become the priority!
