We are committed to make this work for BYMT and the wider community. However unless people make their views known to the decision makers we will just be ignored. As Bromley's local development plan is prepared we as residents of this borough have the ability to shape its future. The plan sets the vision for the next 15-20 years. Bromley Council need to wake up to the need for community led development schemes that will provide facilities that the community needs, lead by local companies and built by local builders employing local tradesmen buying from local suppliers etc etc, you get the idea. We are facing the worst housing crisis in our lifetimes and it will take a generation to address. If every local community were proactive in identifying land that could provide sensible sustainable development the crisis could be over a lot quicker. We owe it to our children and should no longer tolerate selfish nimbys (not in my back yard) who seem to make a disproportionate noise when trying to block any development just for the sake of it!
