Maggie Nelson started this petition to Brodsky Organization

On March 29, 2021, outside of 360 W 43rd Street, Vilma Kari, a 65-yr old Filipino-American woman was brutally assaulted by Brandon Elliot who stomped on her head while yelling racial slurs in front of building staff employed by Brodsky Organization. As the attack ended, the staff shut the door as Kari laid severely injured in the sidewalk. According to NYPD and media reports, no one called 911. Brodsky manages dozens of luxury apartment buildings in NYC where rents for a 1-bedroom regularly top $4,000/mo. Commercial portfolio includes the High Line Hotel and tenants include Forbes Media. We call Brodsky to action:

1) A donation to Kari for the full amount of her hospital bills

2) A $50,000 donation to a local AAPI Aid organization (roughly 1 year rent of just one of their ~10,000 units)

3) A public statement that demonstrates that the staff members involved either immediately rendered aid after the attack (although latest videos show hesitation on part of the staff and allowing residents to cross the crime scene before rendering aid) OR have been permanently terminated from Brodsky Org (not suspended) EDIT: As of 4/6, the doormen have been terminated.

EDIT: donations made here do not go to Vilma Kari. There is a separate GoFundMe. That being said, Brodsky still needs to be held accountable as an inactive and negligent bystander and we need to raise awareness for what to do and not do if we are a witness to violence.
