UK Zoos and Wildlife parks have issued a stark warning that we may not recover from the effects of an enforced closure imposed by the government.

Last week the government announced a change in the law that stated that zoos must remain closed due to COVID-19. The imposed closures have sparked outrage from zoos across the UK.

We have now reached a point where the future of zoos, is seriously at stake. I am sure staff, volunteers, visitors and supporters are outraged and perplexed at this decision

There is a living collection of animals to continue to care for I’m the UK and all of the costs associated with that. We must act now for change.

The reality is that the cash Will be running out and the longer zoos remain closed to the public, the greater the challenges we will face returning to full capacity in the future
