Immediate Ceasefire: Yemen

The Issue

Over 91,000 people have been killed in the war in Yemen. A further 24.1 million need humanitarian assistance and over 14 million are on the brink of starvation.

The UK Court of Appeal in its decision of June 20th 2019 has deemed arms-exports licences to Saudi Arabia as ‘unlawful’.

We therefore urge Britain and France to back the pledge made at the 2nd Inter-Parliamentary Conference on Yemen, held on June 20th 2019 in Edinburgh and Glasgow, that called for:

  1. An immediate ceasefire in Yemen;
  2. The implementation of the Stockholm Agreement;
  3. The British Government to honour the decision of the UK Court of Appeal.
