I have worked in primary and secondary care and now work in community pharmacy. 

I can honestly say in all my career, I have never had a working week like the one I have just experienced. 

Community pharmacy teams are at the front line of the coronavirus as much any other organisation In the NHS, if not more than some, and yet are not being mentioned and have had to fight even for key worker status.

We are working tirelessly to keep people informed and calm and to make sure our communities are catered for and kept safe during these unprecedented times. 

Minimum wages, queues and queues of people, the phone ringing off the hook, GP practices not seeing patient's, but directing them to the pharmacy as if our health is of less importance than theirs. Prescription volumes like I've never seen before, with staff levels low (we are hit by self isolation too) 

Suffering anger and abuse because we are struggling to keep up, people are scared and so some people are only thinking of themselves.

Community pharmacy has suffered cut after cut from the government. 

I am proud to be on the front line and I want to give my all, but it is so dis-heartening to know that it is not recognised what a valued task force they have.
