Better signage on the Cowichan River

Tubing on the river should be a fun activity for people in the summer, we need better signage on the Cowichan River. We can’t let someone lose their life every year. I did two news stories on this last year and emailed a contact I was suggested from BC parks to suggest changes or signs. Nothing has come of it yet, I’m hoping if enough people in this community support it we can make it happen ! My plan will be to present this petition to Don Closson as well as approach local newspapers with it. I wanted to show them I’m not the only one who feels this way and that my community wants this too! With the most recent tragic loss, as well as my mother last year (among other losses and close calls over the years), something needs to be done. Nobody should have to get that phone call. I’ve listed the contact as Don Closson as that’s who I was advised to be in touch with last year. His email is email@example.com if anyone wants to contact him personally to try and help ! I’ve also been in contact with Catherine Jacobsen and Don Cadden of BC Parks as of today. (August 1st 2018) Thankyou !!
