There are millions of cigarette butts thrown away every day. They leave a mess in car parks, outside buildings and in our whole environment.

They contribute to long term plastic pollution and kill birds and small mammals.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Most of a cigarette will compost now, the manufacturers just need to change the filter for a compostable alternative.

There is no practical way to clear up cigarettes but this small change would ensure they simply return to the natural environment.
